History

Get Fresh has serviced customers with the finest quality produce, dairy, and related foodservice items for over 40 years. With nearly 500 employees, and a fleet of 125 refrigerated trucks, we service a diversified mix of National, Independent, Institutional, and Retail Foodservice businesses in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. From our headquarters in Bartlett, IL and our second warehouse in Indianapolis, we deliver over 12 million cases of foodservice products to customers throughout our service area annually. We compete on the basis of service, safety and ready availability of the freshest food for our customers.

State of the Art Facility

Get Fresh Produce operates in Bartlett, Illinois (just west of Chicago) out of a custom built, full secured, 86,000 square foot, LEEDS designed distribution center, completed in March of 2009. Beginning with a cold chain management system at 28 docks, our facility is equipped with 7 coolers, a 1,200 square foot freezer, ripening rooms, repack areas, an in-house safety and quality assurance team and a backup generator, so that nothing can ever stop us from delivering the goods from farmers and growers to your door. In 2015 we added a custom fresh produce processing facility. We continue to grow and in 2018 opened our new distribution facility in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Fleet

Get Fresh Produce operates a modern distribution fleet of 125 fully refrigerated trucks, all maintained and fueled on-site. Each truck is equipped with state-of-the-art fleet tracking and dispatch communication software. This real-time logistics system allows our team to react immediately to any deviation to ensure customer deliveries are handled with efficiency and care.

Technology

Get Fresh Produce continues to invest in technology to be able to enhance and add value to the services we provide our customers. Our state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System technology enhances the accuracy of our deliveries, freshness, and food safety. We can trace all packages, at all times, through our system down through the end customer delivery. We maintain compliance with the Produce Traceability Initiative down to the smallest split of product that we offer. Get Fresh is the first food distribution company in the United States to develop paperless invoicing and have our delivery drivers run their entire day - routing, GPS, invoicing, and returns, from a single tablet device.

We Feed People is our internal campaign designed to rally our employees around the fact that we are not just handling and delivering packages. We Feed People is a constant reminder that we affect the lives of a vast majority of the people in our service area. With our school and heath care customers, it carries additional weight because it reminds our employees that the food we deliver is often being served to our children and family members. We Feed People is one of the many standards that sets our approach, methods and mentality apart from the rest of the foodservice universe.
